About us

      We, a young group of Pa-Oh migrant workers formed the Pa Oh Education Project "PEP" in July 2004, which was organized by 'khunwin'. it is just a small project  and it aims at empowering migrant workers From Burma living and working in Thailand as well as to promote the empowerment of the Pa-Oh people to contribute towards maintaining, protecting and developing manifestations of their culture, language and literature.
      We teach basic computer, Thai, English, migrant's law and occupational safety, health and environment to Multi ethnic young people. Besides, we also do other activities such as capacity building (alternative knowledge, awareness raising trainings), opening a community centre and assist migrant workers who get into trouble or who are in need of help. We also have a plan to support some students who are interested in community development work, for further study. This project is aimed at Myanmar migrant workers (especially ethnic minorities, including Pa Oh) who are facing language difficulties in Bangkok. And we also open in-house libary for migrant workers.
       
Our aims are:
 1. To promote the empowerment of the Pa-Oh people to contribute towards maintaining, 
     protecting and developing manifestations of their culture, language and literature.
 2. To empower migrant workers who are from Burma living and working in Thailand.
 3. To promote their language and computer skills.  
 4. To promote basic capacity to know their rights.
 5. To assist migrant workers when they get into trouble.
